WOOD-FIRED PIZZA CATERING
Pizza Fixation is a mobile wood-fired pizza catering operation that will take your event to the next level. We make artisan style wood-fired pizzas that bake in about 3 minutes right in front of you. You'll see the fire burning, hear the crackling, and smell the hardwood smoke as we hand-stretch and bake the pizzas while you watch. It isn't just catering - it is a full blown experience that will delight you and your guests.
Everything is made fresh and baked in the wood-fired oven. At private events, we generally set up a pizza buffet so that everyone can enjoy a variety of pizza and allows us to keep the pizzas moving along very quickly! At public events like festivals, we generally serve by the whole pizza or by the slice.
Our dough is made using a 48-hour cold rise with a sourdough starter to kick it up a notch. Our fundamental ingredients come from family-owned companies. The sauce is made from fresh-packed California tomatoes, we use only the finest Wisconsin cheeses, and pepperoni made in Columbus, OH. You will see me, Michael Shepherd, the owner, making the pizzas for you pretty much every time. We take pride in our product and the art that goes into making our pizza.
We have a real wood-fired pizza oven mounted atop a trailer that we pull with a pickup truck. We will need plenty of space to turn around a truck with a 13' trailer. Once we are in place, we only need a space of about 15' x 8' for the actual oven (about the same size as a parking space) plus an additional 10'x10' of space for our canopy to set up underneath.
We keep it simple, casual, and delicious.
THE PASSION FOR PIZZA
Pizza Fixation is owned an operated by Michael Shepherd - a 3 Time U.S. Pizza Champion and 4 Time World Pizza Champion. who has appeared on numerous national and international television shows including the Food Network, Discovery Channel, and ABC's Master of Champions.
His former pizzerias have won numerous awards for pizza making over the years at pizza competitions across the country. Michael has earned eight medals from the World Pizza Championships held in Salsomaggiore, Italy, for Fastest Dough, Largest Dough, and Team Acrobatic, including three gold medals. He is the only American to ever win the Largest Dough competition at the World Pizza Championships.
He was runner-up for the Ohio SBA’s Small Business of the Year in 2006, Hardin County Business of the Year in 2007, and won the 20 Under 40 Entrepreneur Award in 2008. He is also certified in Neapolitan & Classic Italian Pizza Making by the International School of Pizza.
